roundup.

michelle obama was honoured at sunday’s cfda awards for her involvement in the industry. in turn, she praised fashion design as an american art form. i’m pleased that the perspective on fashion is continuing to evolve, though somewhat saddened that it’s taken so long?

some of my favie looks from the evening are captured @ right. avec commentary, as expected.

1. blake lively. this is how you fucking do it. love the colour, love the tan. the shoes bore me to tears, but considering how wrong you’ve gone lately we will forgive.

2. ashley olsen. always brings the drama, most often with that retro-glam vibe. she’s getting lots of flack for this number but i’m going to give it to her. she uses powerful sillhouettes to make a statement. and you can’t get fresher than orange.

3. kirsten dunst. normally not a bras and ranties favourite. the shape of the dress, and the bandage…it’s certainly starting to fatigue. but i enjoy the marbled/tie-dye detail throughout the dress, and the shoes are killer.
